Milk Visual Effects was founded by a small team of award-winning VFX supervisors and producers in 2013 and now employs over 200 staff across its sites in London and Cardiff.

Milk Visual Effects create innovative and complex sequences for feature films, high-end television and digital content, and was named one of the top 100 fastest growing British tech companies in the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 in September 2017. Milk also won an Emmy in 2016 for work on the BBC/Hartswood Film ‘s Sherlock; and in 2016 co-founder Sara Bennett became the first woman in twenty years to win an Oscar for best VFX on the film Ex-Machina at the 88th Academy Awards.

Scanline VFX is a global visual effects studio with locations in Munich, Stuttgart, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Montreal, Seoul and London. The company is led by President and Senior Visual Effects Supervisor Stephan Trojansky.

Scanline is noted for its creation of natural phenomena such as fire, smoke and water on disaster epics such as San Andreas and Independence Day: Resurgence. Recent projects include Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Free Guy for director Shawn Levy. Its work as lead vendor on Godzilla vs. Kong highlights Scanline’s increasing expansion into character and creature work.

Founded in 1989 in Munich, Scanline established itself as an industry leader with the development of its proprietary fluid effects software, Flowline. Scanline was the sole developer of Flowline and in 2008, was the recipient of a Scientific and Technical Achievement Academy Award® for the software.

Scanline was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Achievement in Visual Effects in 2010 for its work on Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter, for which it was the sole visual effects vendor. The film’s signature sequence was a recreation of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, which TIME Magazine called “the most exciting, expertly assembled flood scene in movie history.” In 2013, Scanline received a BAFTA nomination for its work on Iron Man 3 and in 2015, a second Academy Award® nomination for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

In 2010, Scanline won its first Visual Effects Society (VES) Award for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects for Hereafter.
